Maryam wouldn't take her bottle again today. However, she had very productive tummy time! My friend Jennifer came over today to help me out with Maryam while I packed some more things up. Jennifer is one of Maryam's nurses from the NICU. She couldn't get her to eat either. In fact, she played the game, look at the bottle and cry. Seriously, all Maryam has to do is see the bottle and she starts to cry! She'll be in a totally peaceful state and then WHAM! she sees the bottle and its all over. We made an apt. to see a pediatrician tomorrow, we're thinking she has an ear infection or maybe something in her mouth is hurting her. I'm out of any other ideas.
Today Maryam discovered how much fun it is to play with her feet! She just kept grabbing them...it was adorable!!! Hey Marietta, does that outfit look familiar? Its one of the few 0-3 mos that still fit her! Good job!
Glad you are checking in with the doc! Maybe they'll have some help for you. Sounds like you had a little bit better of day! Hugs to you!

ReplyDeleteJen I googled "oral aversion" and there were several good web sites. The KCRC pediatric,childrens hospital, and the parent 2 parent were describing everything you guys are dealing with. My heart goes out to you. When she gets through this, you should post her success story and encourage another mom. Love you guys!
