Doctor first. Maryam freaked out. We could barely calm her. The doctor was so concerned that actually asked, "Is she OK cognitively?" Ugh. Then the explaining mother took over. I explained that Maryam has had 3 winters of Synagis shots and remembers the last winter. That she's had 3 courses of antibiotic shots that were given over 3 days. Once on her freaking birthday! And I explained that she's had steroid shots every winter up to this year.
Maryam is afraid, terrified of shots. After my explanation the doctor giggled and told her that he hates shots too!
Doctor went over the surgery w/us. Its only going to take 30+ minutes with a 4 hour recovery. After the 4 hour mark she'll be given clear liquids. If she does OK with those, she'll get to go home! On day 2 she'll be back on table food. Now I just have to figure out how to tell her she's going to have surgery.
Then we went to Disneyland. It was weird being there without Jax, but it was much easier! Disneyland without diapers, diaper bag, wipes, bottles, etc is a breeze!!!!
Maryam got to go on everything she wanted to. The crowd was light and the lines were short.
