We went up to the Joshua Tree National Park on Wednesday night for a Star Party! It was so much fun!!! Eric brought his super cool high tech telescope down from northern California and we all got schooled on the cosmos. He has this super rad laser pointer that can probably blind a space shuttle pilot that he used to point out where we were looking and what we were looking at. He showed us different planets and galaxies and a bunch of other stuff that I'll never in a million years remember. We saw Mars, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter! Neat stuff! And while we were enjoying his telescope we were sitting around looking at the night sky and seeing dozens of shooting stars. It helps that we were up there during a meteor shower. And Shawn brought up his night vision monocle so we got to use that to see the sky as well.
Here is Anna Banana, Yaya and Maryam bundled up together. It was down to 68 degrees up there and we all acted like it was the middle of winter! I guess a 40 degree temperature change in 30 minutes does take getting use to.

Here are Jax and Daddy sleeping. Awwww, so sweet.
Here are Ian and I. Ian LOVED it. He asked a million questions and had a million answers of his own. Eric was sweet with him and even let him use his super rad laser pointer. Ian is a genius boy wonder 6 year old. You know the type that when he walks away you say to the person standing next to you..."Really? Only 6? Are you sure?"
Below are Christi and Anna....so cute.
Uncle Tom and Auntie Karen went up too! I don't have a picture of Auntie Kathy because she got cold and retreated back to the car.Below are Christi and Anna....so cute.
Our stars of the party, Eric and his super rad telescope!
Even Papa came along!
