Puddle Jumping

My kids LOVE when it rains. They love to dance in the rain and run in the rain. I think their favorite part of the rain though, is the puddles the rain makes. They can spend hours jumping in puddles! They haven't learned the whole, "there is a time and a place" thing. This particular day they had just gotten dressed and were getting ready to go over to Yaya's to visit Auntie Karen and Auntie Kathy. Instead, they played in the puddles, took a bath, took a nap and then went to Yaya's. But hey, they had fun!!!!

Maryam's solo for week 7

Maryam's 7th week of tap/ballet. As you can see, she still loves the solo dance part of the class!

Here is video from Maryam's ballet/tap class. We're on week 5 and she's doing GREAT! She loves it! We got her tap shoes over the weekend and now she likes the tap segment much more. Enjoy!

Week 4 of ballet/tap

Maryam really LOVES ballet/tap. We finally got her some tap shoes this weekend. So, next week she'll have tap shoes for the tap portion of her class. She's so excited!

Here's Maryam in the tutu Auntie Sarah and Uncle Scott gave her for Christmas. Its super fancy. She's wearing dress shoes because we haven't bought her tap shoes yet. We'll be getting them soon. Mostly because she keeps asking, "where are my tap shoes?" Ha!

Oh and good news! Her stoma didn't leak tonight! Yay!!!! Bad news is she got taken out by another little ballerina! I caught it on video. I'll be posting it once I get it uploaded. She's OK, she didn't get hurt. But she didn't want to dance anymore after it happened. Oh well, there's always next week!

Its hilarious to watch in person! But they're doing so great! We're very proud of our little ballerinas.

Maryam's Bow

At the end of the class they get to do a "free dance" and then bow. I think the teacher wants her to do some of the dance and the bow she was taught in class but that's not Maryam! Ha! Enjoy!

Maryam is in a combination ballet/tap class. She LOVES it and love watching her in it! I took tons of video at her last class. I'll put some more up on youtube.com and add them to the blog next time I get a few minutes of free time. In the meantime, enjoy!

Dancing in the rain

Here are Ian, me, Maryam, Anna and Brett dancing in the rain. We were walking Christi out to the car when it just started raining! So, we thought hey, let's go dance in the rain. The kids LOVED it. And Christi's super cool camera even picked up the rain drops.

Maryam Boogies

Maryam was playing the maracas and dancing, so I thought I'd try to shoot some video and "capture the moment." And I did! She does a little shake, shake, shake and a little boogie oogie oogie. Gosh, I love her.

The second video is of Maryam playing the maracas. Only she's using the maracas as drum sticks and her toy turtle is the drum. Adorable!
